Liquid-cooling

FASTER WARM-UPS, ELIMINATION OF THERMAL SHOCK PROBLEMS, HIGH RELIABILITY, LONGER ENGINE-LIFE

MISTRAL engines are liquid-cooled.

The engine temperature remains constant irrespective of power, flight speed or ambient temperature, thus ensuring that engine-block temperatures, therefore clearances, always remain optimum. Liquid-cooling brings several advantages to you in terms of engine reliability and operations:

Heat is removed from the engine by the water/ethylene glycol coolant and by the engine oil. By injecting pressurized lubrication oil into the cooling passages inside the engine rotors, rather than relying on oil splash to remove heat as in conventional piston-engines, the rotors can also be maintained at a more constant temperature than pistons.

The coolant and oil heat-exchangers can be mounted wherever the design and space availability in your own aircraft dictate.
