FRONT ALTERNATOR BELT
How is the front alternator belt changed?

The front alternator belt can be changed when the PSRU is dismounted from the engine.

It is possible, as is often done on Lycoming engines, to fix a spare alternator belt inside the PSRU dry casing. Often however, both belts will need to be changed as they will have reached their age limit prior to any failure of the operating belt.

The alternator belt, if belt alignment and belt tension are correctly maintained, should have a service life of well over 1000 hours operation.
