The first flight of the MISTRAL G-230TS rotary engine, with take-off and landing

One of the first flights of the MISTRAL G-230TS rotary engine in October 2004 at Daytona Beach International Airport.

Subsequently, approximately 50 hours of flight were accumulated to demonstrate the airworthiness of the powerplant and of the Digital Engine (DEM) system, as well as to gather data on engine cooling in flight. Engine cooling was demonstrated to be so efficient that the system is now being downsized with a corresponding slimming down of the cowling.
