Multi-fuel, liquid-cooled and electronically-controlled, MISTRAL’s rotary engine is an innovative solution to the motorization challenges faced by general aviation. Currently undergoing FAA certification, with models ranging from 180 to 360 hp in both airplane and helicopter versions, the MISTRAL Engine will be on display at the ILA Berlin Air Show from 27 May to 01 June and at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh from 28 July to 3 August 2008.
The MISTRAL Engine is being certified to use avgas 100LL, mogas or any mixture thereof. Working on mogas, it yields fuel economy unmatched by any other type-certified aviation engine. The simplicity and robustness of the rotary technology, allied with liquid-cooling, result in excellent reliability and longevity (3000-hour TBO), as well as in low maintenance and overhaul costs. A fully redundant Digital Engine Management (DEM) system offers dual electronic ignition as well as dual injection, a unique characteristic of the MISTRAL Engine.
Created in 2001 by pilots and aircraft owners for pilots and aircraft owners, MISTRAL Engines is a Swiss Company, with headquarters in Geneva and a US subsidiary in DeLand, Florida.
