Propeller Speed Reduction Unit (PSRU)

Planetary Reduction Gear FOR LOW PROPELLER SPEED ON TAKE-OFF (2,200 - 2,300 rpm) as well as in cruise (2,000 rpm and below)

  • higher propulsion efficiency
  • propeller noise reduced by 10 db or more
  • meet current and future noise standards that very few current engines can meet

The gearbox is a heavy-duty 6-pinion planetary reduction gear with a ratio of 2.8235:1, resulting in lower propeller speed for reduced noise and improved efficiency.

The gear train is designed to take the load of our three-rotor engines (360 hp) over a 3,000 hour TBO. By offering this same gearbox on our two-rotor engines, we confirm the company’s policy to offer uncompromised reliability.

High pressure oil from the engine block feeds both the gearbox lubrication system and the constant-speed hydraulic propeller governor.
